The unusual eight-pointed thing referred to was first seen in arrogance (July 12, 2004 - incidentally the first installment of this comic) and the change from black to white referred to occurred in avenge (July 15, 2005). An example of the disastrous consequences for their society mentioned can be found in allegiance (September 6, 2005). The blame of the blessed circlam, and the ability of the thing within it, can be found in acceptance (not!) (August 26, 2004).
